The merger, which is still subject to regulatory approvals, will form California’s largest health information exchange to date. The new health information exchange will combine 11.7 million claims records from Cal INDEX with 5 million clinical patient records from IEHIE and its 150 participating partners.

Claudia Williams, a former senior advisor for health innovation and technology in the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy, has been named CEO, effective Feb. 1, 2017. Ms. Williams has also served as the director of HIE for the ONC.
