Broward Health Data Breach Affects 1,000

Broward Health Medical Center in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., has disclosed a recent data breach at the hospital that affected 960 former patients.

The information was removed by a Broward Health employee who no longer works for the organization sometime between October and December 2012. Compromised information includes the patients’ personal information, reason for visit and insurance information.

Notification letters have been sent to the affected patients.
