Boulder Foothills patients began receiving unrequested copies of their medical records in the mail last week, sent from an anonymous source. As of May 12, 16 patients had received their records in the mail. The hospital has now reported the number of affected patients has grown to 30, according to the report.

It is still unclear whether the anonymous source is taking the medical records from inside of the hospital or from somewhere outside on the hospital’s campus.

As a result of the data breach, the hospital is offering free credit monitoring services to affected patients, according to the report.
