The bill, Health IT Modernization for Underserved Communities Act of 2011, was filed by Representatives Karen Bass (D-Calif.) and Lee Terry (R-Neb.). The bill would benefit patients in medically underserved communities because PAs are often the sole healthcare providers in these areas, according to the release.
