Here are five things to know from the report, according to an Oct. 19 Harvard Business Review article:
1. Only 13 percent of companies say they’re able to hire and retain the tech talent they need most.
2. Forty percent of employees say flexibility is a top-three reason for joining a company.
3. About 70 percent of businesses say they’ve increased salaries and base pay over the past year, 47 percent said they’ve upped bonus pay, about 1 in 3 said they’ve boosted health benefits, and nearly a fourth said they’ve increased time off.
4. More than 4 out of 5 workers say that using modern methodologies and tools is important.
5. Companies that have been successful in attracting tech talent are 30 percent more likely to be agile and 16 percent more apt to organize the job around products instead of projects.
