Athenahealth Q2 revenue up 15% — 4 things to know

Watertown, Mass.-based athenahealth released financial results Thursday for the second three months ending June 30, reporting $9.9 million in net income on $301 million in revenue.

Here are four things to know about the medical record, revenue cycle and population health company’s latest financial results.

1. That marks a 15 percent increase in revenue compared to the $261.9 million it recorded in the same period last year.

2. The company reported a 4.1 percent operating margin for the second quarter, an improvement from the 0.5 percent margin from Q2 2016.

3. Athenahealth recorded net income of $9.9 million for the second quarter, up from the $1.9 million loss it reported in the same period last year.

4. The company reaffirmed its 2017 financial guidance, which projects $1.21 to $1.25 billion in revenue and $36 million to $46 million in operating income by the end of the fiscal year.
