The Humana-athenahealth Medical Home EHR Rewards Program aims to provide useful, actionable information to participating physicians, who can receive financial incentives for meeting or exceeding certain quality benchmarks. As part of the alliance, Humana will subsidize the implementation cost of athenaClinicals for physicians who are interested in and eligible for participation. The program will be promoted to 20,000 family and internal medicine physicians who are part of Humana’s national provider network.

Through the program, physician practices will have individualized goals and will be measured against nationally recognized Healthcare Effectiveness Data and Information Set quality measures created by the National Committee for Quality Assurance. In turn, participating practices will be provided performance feedback
