Through the new program — called the Meaningful Use Stage 3 Guarantee for Hospitals — athenahealth aims to support hospitals using the athenaOne for Hospitals & Health Systems Service. If a hospital uses the service with athenahealth’s best practices and receives a downward payment adjustment to its Medicare Part A fee schedule, the company will provide a service fee credit to offset the adjustment.
Under the Guarantee for Ambulatory Clients, one of athenahealth’s previous programs, 96.7 percent of clients successfully attested to Meaningful Use in 2016.
