athenahealth is First HIT Vendor to Guarantee ICD-10 Compliance for Clients

athenahealth announced a new guarantee ICD-10 compliance for clients who go live before June 30, 2014.

athenahealth has stated that by the Oct. 1, 2014 — the government’s deadline for complete transition to ICD-10 — all of its clients will be ICD-10 compliant. If it fails to do so, the vendor will waive its fees until the compliance standard has been met.

 

ICD-10 is an updated set of procedure and medical diagnosis codes that all healthcare providers must use starting on Oct. 1. athenahealth is the first health IT vendor to give such a guarantee.
