At-Home Monitoring the Epicenter of Telehealth Market

In the telehealth market, at-home monitoring has both the largest impact on the market as a whole and represents the market’s biggest opportunity for growth, according to survey data from the American Telemedicine Association’s 2013 conference.

Both startups and established health IT companies are increasingly entering into the at-home monitoring market, which includes remote patient monitoring systems. While foreign companies have shown interest in this market, the survey results indicate these companies do not have the right marketing strategy to be as successful as American companies.

Survey respondents also viewed video telemedicine and tele-mental health as leading areas for business opportunities.
