For the “2017 U.S. Startup Team Gender Diversity Study,” the online venture capital platform FundersClub surveyed representatives from 85 tech startups about workplace diversity.
Here are three insights from the survey, based on responses from startups with at least one female founder.
1. Their employee teams were on average 48 percent women. This statistic is twice the average (24 percent) reported by startups with no female founders.
2. Their executive leadership teams were, on average, 38 percent women, which is 2.4 times the average percentage reported by those with no female founders.
3. Their engineering teams were 23 percent women, on average — roughly 2.3 times the average percentage for those with no female founders.
