American Well raises nearly $300M with new investor, Philips

Virtual physician startup American Well has snagged nearly $291 million in funds, backed by new investor, Philips, according to SEC filings reviewed by CNBC.

In January, the two struck a deal to embed American Well’s mobile telehealth services into an array of Philips solutions in a global venture. In April, they joined forces to add telehealth services to Philips’ parenting app Avent uGrow.

The new capital makes American Well one of the best-funded telehealth companies, according to CNBC.
