American Medical Informatics Association CEO departs

American Medical Informatics Association President and CEO Douglas Fridsma, MD, PhD, left his post on Jan. 1, according to a news release.

Dr. Fridsma served as president and CEO of AMIA since 2014. Prior to joining AMIA, Dr. Fridsma held the position of chief scientist at ONC for Health Information Technology.

Karen Greenwood, executive vice president and COO at AMIA, will serve as interim CEO until the organization’s board of directors appoints Dr. Fridsma’s replacement.
