Amazon paid at least $50M to acquire a 3-D body scanning startup

Amazon spent between $50 million to $100 million to acquire a 3-D body scanning startup called Body Labs, according to TechCrunch.

Body Labs was founded in 2013 and offers 3-D body modeling technology to help apparel retailers make better size recommendations.

The acquisition, which was confirmed on the startup’s website, may be a sign of Amazon’s interest in the fashion industry, according to TechCrunch.
