Here are four things to know about Amazon’s new service.
1. Amazon’s AWS IoT, launched in beta, is a managed cloud service.
2. AWS IoT has a number of semiconductor partners including Arrow, Broadcom, Intel, Microchip, Qualcomm, SeedStudio and Texas Instruments, according to the report.
3. AWS IoT was developed with companies that develop and maintain IoT efforts in-house in mind.
4. AWS IoT, “enables a whole ecosystem of manufacturers, service providers and application developers to easily connect their products to the cloud at scale, take action on the data they collect, and create a new class of applications that interact with the physical world,” said Marco Argenti, vice president for mobile and IoT at AWS, according to the report.
