Amazon has secret office building in a small California town, no one knows why

Amazon reportedly has a two-year-old secret office in Santa Cruz, Calif., that employs over 100 people, according to CNBC.

It’s uncertain what the Seattle-based e-commerce giant is doing in the 40,000-square-foot office, but according to CNBC, a team of engineers is working on Alexa’s voice technology.  

Additionally, the company allegedly didn’t take any tax breaks or economic benefits from the city of Santa Cruz.
