UPMC Enterprises has joined a $13 series A financing round for BrainCheck, a digital health startup that uses AI to assess and care for cognitive conditions.
Pittsburgh-based UPMC is among the 500 healthcare organizations employing the platform for screening and managing mild cognitive impairment and dementia-related diseases such as Alzheimer’s.
“We look forward to our continued engagement with BrainCheck and bringing it to more clinicians supporting patients who could benefit from earlier detection, long-term monitoring, and scalable cognitive care within and beyond our health system said Adele Towers, MD, senior clinical advisor to UPMC Enterprises, the venture capital arm of UPMC, in a Feb. 26 news release.
BrainCheck said it plans to use the funding to expand workflow integration, patient monitoring, primary and specialty care deployment, and AI assistance for value-based care.
