Lexington-based University of Kentucky is partnering with Microsoft on an enterprisewide AI project aiming to expand the adoption of the technology at its health system.
Through the recently launched Commonwealth AI Transdisciplinary Strategy, the university’s framework for responsible AI use, Microsoft will offer its Dragon Copilot for ambient clinical documentation to physicians and nurses at Lexington-based UK HealthCare. Under the collaboration, the university will receive previews of the company’s newest healthcare AI tools.
“This collaboration reflects what’s possible when innovation is guided by purpose. Microsoft is helping place Kentucky in the lead — not only in terms of early access to powerful tools but in how those tools are applied to solve real challenges with communities,” university President Eli Capilouto, DDS, DrPH, said in a late November news release.
