St. Luke’s saves 200 hours a month with Microsoft cybersecurity tool

Bethlehem, Pa.-based St. Luke’s University Health Network is saving nearly 200 hours a month and automatically resolving thousands of false cyber threats with a Microsoft security tool.

To revamp its Security Operations Center and protect its more than 2.5 petabytes of data, the 16-hospital system adopted Microsoft Security Copilot, arming St. Luke’s analysts with AI-assisted investigations and providing better visibility into hacking attempts, according to an April 16 Microsoft news release.

The health system previously had fragmented cybersecurity intelligence, overwhelming analysts with staff-reported suspicious emails and false positives. This led to slower response times and an increased risk of missing real attacks. With AI-assisted analysis, potential threats can be automatically reviewed, prioritized and resolved.
