Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang says China is better positioned to deploy AI capacity than the U.S., noting how quickly it constructs healthcare facilities.
“If you want to build a data center here in the United States, from breaking ground to standing up an AI supercomputer is probably about three years,” Mr. Huang said in a late November interview with John Hamre, president and CEO of U.S. think tank the Center for Strategic and International Studies. “[China] can build a hospital in a weekend.”
The founder of the $4.5 trillion AI chip maker, the world’s most valuable company, expressed concern that the U.S. may fall behind China in the race to build data centers to support the growing demand for AI, citing the Asian country’s construction and energy advantages.
