The Digital Medicine Society has partnered with Google for Health and more than 30 healthcare, technology and policy organizations to release a new guide to help health systems implement AI responsibly.
“The Playbook: Implementing AI in Healthcare,” released Oct. 8, offers practical steps for identifying appropriate use cases for AI, evaluating tools responsibly, and scaling them in ways that improve patient outcomes and clinician experiences while prioritizing equity and trust.
The Playbook expands on the society’s previous toolkits and includes contributions from organizations such as Oakland, Calif.-based Kaiser Permanente; Pittsburgh-based UPMC Enterprises; Nashville, Tenn.-based Vanderbilt University Medical Center; Stanford (Calif.) University; and OpenNotes at Boston-based Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center.
It is supported by free training programs sponsored by the Patrick J. McGovern Foundation to help low-resource health systems adopt AI tools, according to an Oct. 9 news release.
