The vast majority of health system leaders are focusing on AI and digital tools to increase timely, convenient access to care, healthcare consulting firm Chartis found.
“We may finally be at a tipping point if 90% of healthcare executives agree on the need for fundamental change,” stated Chartis Chief AI and Digital Officer Tom Kiesau in a Nov. 3 news release.
Here are four things to know from the company’s survey of 150 health system executives:
1. Nine in 10 leaders are prioritizing AI and digital tools to transform access, including real-time health risk predictions and proactive scheduling.
2. Nine in 10 are emphasizing digital and AI to personalize the patient journey, with multiple digital communication channels and device monitoring to collect robust data.
3. Nine in 10 are using AI and digital to more accurately project and meet demand, through AI-supported capacity and referral management and more digitally supported care at home.
4. Nine in 10 are concentrating on digital and AI solutions to serve additional patients, by freeing providers’ administrative burden and leveraging AI to maximize access to their clinical expertise.
