Edison, N.J.-based Hackensack Meridian Health has developed an AI tool that uses Google’s machine learning technology to synthesize two years’ worth of provider notes in seconds.
The tool was created by the health system’s data science team to reduce clerical burden and give nurses more time for direct patient care, according to a Jan. 12 system news release. It instantly reads and organizes unstructured clinical notes into a coherent patient history, allowing providers to access key medical information with a single click.
Hackensack Meridian said the initiative aims to restore time with patients by minimizing documentation demands.
