Hospitals, physician practices and payers that currently use their own HIE reported the following five HIE vendors as the best on the market in five areas of specialty:
- Inpatient/ hospital HIE: Cerner
- Ambulatory HIE: dbMotion Allscripts
- Payer-centric HIE: Covisint
- Core HIE system: ICA
- Multi-organization/ complex data HIE: Infor (formerly Lawson)
Other vendors ranked highly by respondents included: Aetna Medicity, Alere, Availity, Caradigm, GSI Healthcare, Intersystems, McKesson RelayHealth, Optuminsight and Oracle.
Survey results were based on responses from 1,550 provider organizations utilizing HIEs and 794 payers and insurers over the last six months of 2013.
