WalletHub released its 2019 list of the most and least innovative states. The report also included a list of the states with the highest and lowest share of technology companies.
The company compared the 50 states and District of Columbia across 24 indicators of innovation, such as research and development spending per capita.
Five states with highest share:
- District of Columbia
- Virginia
- Maryland
- Delaware
- Colorado
Five states with lowest share, in ascending order:
- Iowa
- Arkansas
- Mississippi
- North Dakota
- South Dakota
