49% of physicians believe patients should only have full access to their medical records on a case-by-case basis

EHRs are designed to improve healthcare data sharing amongst providers and between patients, but many physicians think there should limits to sharing data with patients, according to a Forbes report.

A survey of more than 2,300 physicians found 49 percent believe access to all records should be granted to patients only on a case-by-case basis. On the other hand, 34 percent of physicians believe patients should always have full access. Only 17 percent are of the opinion patients should never have full access.
