4 advancements from GE Healthcare's new location system

General Electric Healthcare recently released a new real-time location system called Encompass that was created to help hospitals to quickly locate critical resources.

Here are four developments that GE believes sets Encompass apart from other real time location systems.

  1. Installation of Encompass takes days instead of months, and does not involve opening ceilings.
  2. Wireless technology utilizes a hospital's existing WiFi networks instead of drilling cables into walls, which greatly lowers installation costs.
  3. The system's wireless capabilities allow it to adjust easily to growth or change in hospital layout.
  4. Because it utilizes cloud technology, Encompass is accessible to any authorized staff member with internet access.
