26% of malware directed at healthcare websites

It's no secret healthcare is a prime target for cybercrime. A recent report from German cybersecurity firm G Data reports that 26.6 percent of all malware attacks in the first half of 2015 were geared toward healthcare websites, according to an International Business Times report.

In the first half of 2014, just 6.5 percent of malware attacks targeted healthcare websites. That number rose to 10.2 percent in the second half of 2014, according to the report.

In the first half of 2015, technology and telecommunications websites were the second most targeted by malware at 11.6 percent.
