1. 7. Hardin Memorial Health in Elizabethtown, Ky., became the first health system to implement IBM Watson Health Imaging’s AI program trained by radiologists to extract clinically relevant information from a patient’s EHR.
8. Yale New Haven (Conn.) Hospital teamed up with local government officials to propose the introduction of autonomous vehicles on the shuttle route between the health system’s two main campuses and a parking garage.
9. Boston-based Partners HealthCare announced plans to provide all clinicians and researchers with AI tools by early 2020, with a focus on increasing access to the data, computing capacity and software needed for clinicians to develop their own AI algorithms for clinical use.
10. Health Quest Systems announced the deployment of IBM Watson Health’s AI-powered clinical trial matching system throughout the LaGrangeville, N.Y.-based health system’s hospitals.
11. Cleveland Clinic launched the Center for Clinical Artificial Intelligence to foster collaborative research in the fields of pathology, genetics and cancer, among others, to solve clinical issues using machine learning and other AI technologies.
12. Northwell Health in New Hyde Park, N.Y., software that analyzes medical history and social determinants of health to identify patients at risk of readmission, then recommends steps to mitigate that risk.
