10 worst states for tech salary growth

While tech pay has risen over the past decade, that isn’t the case everywhere in the U.S.

Here are the 10 states with the worst tech salary growth from 2014 to 2024, according to a July 24 analysis of U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics data across six major technology roles by marketing agency DesignRush:

1. Wyoming: -6.62%

2. Delaware: -6.57%

3. Rhode Island: -4.05%

4. Mississippi: -3.9%

5. Kansas: -2.49%

6. New York: -1.48%

7. New Mexico: -1.01%

8. Oregon: -0.52%

9. New Jersey: -0.21%

10. Indiana: 0.16%
