$1.6B Health IT Fund Started by New York Investment Management Firm

Deerfield Management Company in New York City has announced the creation of the Deerfield Private Design Fund III, a $1.6 billion fund to make strategic investments in innovative healthcare companies.

This is the third such fund for Deerfield Management Company. Deerfield Private Design I has invested $500 million in healthcare companies, and Deerfield Private Design II has invested close to $1 billion.
