CDC sets aside monkeypox vaccines for high-risk Black, Hispanic populations

About 50,000 Jynneos monkeypox vaccines will go toward populations that are less likely to be vaccinated and face barriers to access, according to the CDC

The agency opened applications for the Monkeypox Vaccine Equity Pilot Program on Sept. 15 to resolve access issues among Black and Hispanic/Latino populations who are men who have sex with men. 

“We have a responsibility to address inequities that have been highlighted by this outbreak, and this program will help make a difference,” CDC Director Rochelle Walensky, MD, said in a statement.
