Walmart has expanded its Better Care Services platform to include weight management support for customers using or considering GLP-1 therapies, including access to medications such as Foundayo (orforglipron).
Walmart said the platform integrates virtual care, nutrition services and pharmacy access across its nearly 4,600 locations, with same-day delivery available in some markets, according to an April 16 news release.
The expanded offering includes partnerships with providers such as Aaptiv, Berry Street, Curai Health, MyCare by Twin Health and Wheel, offering services ranging from fitness and nutrition counseling to telehealth visits and medication management.
The move builds on Walmart’s broader pharmacy strategy. In January, the company increased pay for pharmacy technicians and elevated 3,000 employees into pharmacy operations team lead roles, with average hourly pay rising to $28 and potential earnings up to $42.
The expansion comes as demand for weight management services grows, with more than 40% of U.S. adults living with obesity, and reflects efforts to integrate care delivery, pharmacy access and workforce investment, according to the release.
