Amazon Pharmacy has begun offering Eli Lilly’s GLP-1 medication, Foundayo, via same-day delivery.
The once-daily oral treatment is approved for adults with obesity or overweight with weight-related conditions. Patients with a valid prescription can order the drug with real-time pricing and availability, with costs starting at $1 per day with insurance or $5 per day for cash-paying customers, according to an April 9 news release.
The service is available in nearly 3,000 cities and towns, and is expected to expand to about 4,500 by year-end. In areas without same-day access, delivery ranges from next day to within three days.
Amazon Pharmacy also plans to offer Foundayo through pharmacist-supported kiosks at select One Medical locations, allowing patients to receive medications within minutes of appointments.
