Zotec Partners’ Ed Gaines named chair of ACEP, EDPMA joint task force

Ed Gaines, chief compliance officer with Zotec Partners, has been appointed chair of a newly formed American College of Emergency Physicians and Emergency Department Practice Management Association joint task force.

ACEP President Michael Gerardi, MD, appointed Mr. Gaines as chair. The joint task force was formed to address out-of-network, balance billing and Medicaid payment issues.

“These are high priority issues facing both organizations, and I am honored to be among a group of highly respected peers in the specialty and appointed to the task force to develop strategies that will best serve the emergency medicine community,” said Mr. Gaines.

Mr. Gaines is also a member of the ACEP reimbursement committee and a co-founder and past chairman of the EDPMA. He works out of Zotec’s Greensboro, N.C., offices.
