Zotec Partners earns new security certification: 3 things to know

Zotec Partners, one of the nation's largest revenue cycle and practice management providers, has achieved compliance with the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards Version 3.2 as a certified Level 1 Service Provider.

Here are three things to know.

1. PCI DSS is a comprehensive card security standard regulated by credit card companies, including American Express, Discover, JCB, MasterCard and Visa, according to a news release. The standard "evaluates data security of credit card payment applications and service providers by assessing a business's network architecture, technology platforms, security policies and data protection procedures," the release states.

2. Zotec officials said the certification is a critical part of the company's security and compliance best practices and standards surrounding its online payment portal, mobile payment platforms and other elements of the patient experience pertaining to revenue cycle management.

3. Zotec's Founder and CEO, T. Scott Law, commented on the certification in the release, saying it aligns well with Zotec's recent SOC-2 Certification, which focuses on a business's controls related to the security, availability, integrity, confidentiality and privacy of information and systems.

"Our physician clients are always at risk, and so by achieving these critical benchmarks in data security, we are able to protect them from potential security threats while also enhancing their reimbursement and helping them meet their financial goals," Mr. Law said.
