Virginia Mason partners with Carena for telemedicine billing services

Virtual care provider Carena will facilitate the claims submission process for patients at Seattle-based Virginia Mason Virtual Care Clinic who are insured by Regence BlueShield. 

Through the agreement, Regence BlueShield will offer members in-network discounts for virtual visits at the Virginia Mason Virtual Care Clinic.

Part of Virginia Mason Health System in Seattle, the Virginia Mason Virtual Care Clinic offers  care to patients through smartphone, tablet and computer devices 24/7.

"We are excited to kick off virtual care insurance billing with a trusted partner in our home market," Carena President and CEO Ralph Derrickson said in a prepared statement. "Empowering Regence BlueShield members to apply their insurance benefits for care delivered through Virginia Mason Virtual Clinic opens the door to superb virtual care for even more patients."
