The funding aims to help rural community hospitals nationwide with telehealth, staffing for COVID-19 vaccines and testing, construction or renovations to new facilities, nutrition assistance programs, and medical supply costs.
The investment is part of President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris’ Emergency Rural Health Care Grants Program.
The USDA plans to name further awardees of funding in the coming weeks. Funds will be administered through the USDA’s Rural Development’s Community Facilities Program.
