UPMC makes $200M investment in immunotherapy hub: 3 things to know

Pittsburgh-based UPMC, in partnership with the University of Pittsburgh, will build an eight-story immune transplant center in Pittsburgh.

Here are three things to know about the project.

1. The UPMC Immune Transplant and Therapy Center will initially focus on transplantation, cancer, and aging and chronic diseases.

2. UPMC made a $200 million, three-year funding commitment to ITTC. The investment aims to "dramatically accelerate the pace at which medical teams can utilize new research," UPMC said.

3. ITTC will feature lab and office space, as well as space for startup firms and industry partners.
