UPMC hospital reports record $723M in revenue

Erie, Pa.-based UPMC Hamot saw a record $723 million in revenue for 2022, powered by a 6 percent jump in outpatient revenue, goerie.com reported April 26.

The hospital earned $9 million more than in 2021. The revenue report was boosted by the strong performance of the hospital’s clinics; the three clinics saw 3,500 patients per month.

“Many communities in the region don’t have easy access to specialists, so our goal was to open or expand these clinics and offer certain specialties, such as our heart and vascular institute, women’s services and gastrointestinal medicine,” UPMC Hamot President David Gibbons, RN, told goerie.com.
