Net revenues totaled $2.02 billion for the three months ended June 30, a 10 percent increase from $1.83 billion during the second quarter of 2013. For the first six months of 2014, UHS reported $289.75 million in net income, up nearly 7 percent from $271.65 million during the first six months of 2013. Revenue during the first six months of 2014 totaled $3.94 billion during the first six months of 2014, a 7.5 percent increase from $3.67 billion during the first six months of 2013.
Additionally, during the second quarter of 2014, adjusted admissions at UHS-owned acute-care hospitals increased by 3.6 percent year-over-year, and adjusted patient days increased by 7.9 percent. During the first six months of 2014, at UHS acute-care hospitals on a same-facility basis, adjusted admissions increased by 1.5 percent, and adjusted patient days went up by 6.2 percent, compared with the first six months of 2013.
