UnitedHealth Group Records Highest CEO-to-Employee Compensation Ratio in 2011

Health insurer UnitedHealth Group recorded the highest CEO-to-worker pay ratio of the 50 largest companies in the United States of 1,737-to-1, according to a report from Payscale.

UnitedHealth CEO Stephen Hemsley earned nearly $102 million last year in total compensation, while the median salary for a full-time UnitedHealth employee was $58,700, according to the report.

Payscale used figures from Forbes‘ list of top-paid CEOs and a self-reported worker salary database.
