The audit would review costs, contract compliance, management and payments for the new hospital. An auditing firm has not yet been selected.
It comes a month after the university’s board of regents and Iowa’s State Health Facilities Council approved a 33 percent budget increase for construction due to inflation. The hospital is the most expensive in Iowa’s history and is budgeted to cost up to $525.6 million.
