The University of Alberta Hospital in Canada received a $3 million gift to support the hospital's hematology program, reports CVT News Edmonton.
The donation, a gift from local entrepreneur and former patient Marshall Eliuk, will go toward construction of the newly renamed Marshall Eluik Hematology Unit. Hospital officials expect the unit to open in the spring of 2018.
In addition, the donation will help fund research and bring in additional specialists.
