KLAS’ report, “Community Hospital CMS 2011: Rapid Adoption,” found that community EMR sales increased significantly in 2010. More than half of community healthcare providers contracting with a computer information system had no prior CIS and an additional 36 percent were providers who switched to a different vendor.
KLAS estimates approximately 300-500 U.S. hospitals have not yet committed to a CIS vendor as of the beginning of 2011.
