Truven Health Analytics to provide CCJR consulting for hospitals

Truven Health Analytics has announced it will help hospitals adopt the proposed Comprehensive Care for Joint Replacement Program by providing consulting support.

The five-year CCJR program, which is slated to launch on Jan. 1, 2016, is the first mandatory bundled payment model from CMS. Under the program, hospitals in 75 selected Metropolitan Statistical Areas will take responsibility for quality and total spending over a 90-day period for patients who undergo elective and urgent joint replacement procedures.

According to Sally Akers, vice president of provider solutions consulting for Truven, hospitals in selected markets that will be affected by CCJR need to understand the revenue and margin impact of the new payment model.

"A data-driven evaluation of hospital-specific and regional performance will be a key success factor under CCJR," said Ms. Akers. "The time to start preparing is right now."

Truven Health consulting and analytics experts are hosting an online seminar for hospitals affected by the CCJR Program on Wednesday, Sept. 2. To register, click here.
