To prepare for growth, Houston Methodist moves billing, administrative offices to Katy

Houston Methodist Hospital System will move 250 employees from its administrative, central business and billing and collections departments at Texas Medical Center in Houston to Houston Methodist St. Catherine in Katy, Texas, reports Community Impact.

Houston Methodist oversees operations at two area hospitals, Houston Methodist West and Houston Methodist St. Catherine

The health system purchased its St. Catherine facility, formerly known as Christus-St. Catherine Hospital, in 2014.

"Both Houston Methodist West and St. Catherine have plans for future growth," Peyton Elliott, vice president and COO of Houston Methodist West Hospital, told Community Impact.

According to Mr. Elliot, the health system plans for an estimated $177 million in new construction and improvements to the Methodist West campus in the next few years.

Houston Methodist is one of multiple healthcare companies eyeing development opportunities in Katy.

Officials from the Katy Area Economic Development Council are anticipating nearly $400 million in healthcare construction and development in the region, including facility expansions by Memorial Hermann, MD Anderson Cancer Center and Houston Methodist West, all based in Houston, according to the article.
