The white paper summarizes feedback from all the different groups as the state grapples with what it should do with a health insurance exchange that is mandated by the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act.
However, some Republican state legislators are hesitant to endorse the state running the exchange, according to a Chattanooga Times Free Press report. As the PPACA undergoes Supreme Court review, many Tennessee lawmakers — and others around the country — worry that tacit approval for a state-run exchange will be a vote in favor of President Barack Obama’s healthcare reform law.
