The 11-hospital system will receive incentives for reducing healthcare costs while treating BCBS Kansas City members and coordinating care. If the program works as expected, the payor anticipates savings ranging from $3 to $10 per member per month, according to the report. Patients with chronic conditions would account for most of the savings.
“We are continuously seeking to enhance the quality of services we deliver to the Kansas City community while lowering costs where possible. Collaborative value reimbursement programs are a vehicle to do just that,” Melinda Estes, MD, president and CEO of Saint Luke’s, said in the report.
