Steward Louisiana hospital closes inpatient rehab unit

West Monroe, La.-based Glenwood Regional Medical Center, part of financially troubled Dallas-based Steward Health Care, closed its inpatient rehabilitation unit March 20.

The hospital informed the Louisiana Department of Health’s health standards section team of its plans prior to closing the unit, a spokesperson for the department confirmed in a statement shared with Becker’s

The health department will continue conducting weekly monitoring visits at the hospital to “ensure full compliance with federal and state hospital regulations,” the spokesperson said.

Becker’s has reached out to Steward for a comment regarding the unit closure and will update this story if more information becomes available.
